Schools and Libraries
The public schools for residents of Olde Weatherly are Pelham Ridge Elementary (K-5), Pelham Park Middle School (6-8), Pelham High School (9-12), and the Linda Nolen Learning Center (special needs). With the exception of the Linda Nolen Learning Center they are in the Pelham City School System. Linda Nolen Learning Center is part of the Shelby County School System.
Pelham Ridge Elementary is located on Applegate Parkway off Highway 52, less than a mile from the entrance to Olde Weatherly. This is the newest elementary in the Pelham City School System.
Pelham Park Middle School is located on land next to Pelham City Park, about 3.8 miles from Olde Weatherly. The address is 2016 Pelham Park Boulevard. From US 31, go North, then turn left at Pelham Park Boulevard, which is across from First Baptist Church.
Pelham High School is located 4.4 miles from Olde Weatherly on a hill top just off Bearden Road. It is visible from US 31. To get there go north on US 31 and turn left onto Industrial Park Drive, then right onto Bearden Road.
The Linda Nolen Learning Center is about 3.5 miles from Olde Weatherly on Shelby County 35. To get there take Shelby 52 to Shelby 35 and turn right. Turn right at the stop sign to stay on 35.

Kingwood Christian School serves students K5 through 12th grade. It is located in Alabaster, about 5.5 miles from Olde Weatherly. To get to Kingwood, follow Shelby 52 to US 31 and turn right. Turn right onto Industrial Road, right onto 9th Street, and right onto Hill Spun Road.
Indian Springs School is located off Alabama 119, about 6.5 miles from Olde Weatherly. It offers day and day and boarding school for grades 8 through 12.
Evangel Classical Christian School offers grades K5 through 12. It is located in Alabaster about 5.7 miles from Olde Weatherly. To get there, take Shelby County Road 11 to US 31 and turn left, turn left onto 2nd Place, left onto 1st Street, right onto 1st Avenue, and left onto Thompson Road.
Westminster School at Oak Mountain is located at 5080 Cahaba Valley Trace in Birmingham, off AL Hwy 119, about 10.9 miles from Olde Weatherly. Take I-65 North to the Cahaba Valley Road - AL Hwy 119 exit and turn right. After about 5 miles, turn left onto Shelby County Hwy 14 which is Cahaba Valley Trace.

Our Lady of the Valley Catholic School is an award winning elementary and middle school located off Alabama Highway 119, about 9 miles from Olde Weatherly. OLV serves pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. To get to OLV take Shelby Highway 11 and 52 to I-65 North. Turn East on AL-119 and then right onto Double Oak Lane.
John Caroll Catholic High School is located at 300 Lakeshore Parkway in Birmingham, 15.8 miles from Olde Weatherly. Take Shelby County 11 and 52 to I-65 North. Exit at Lakeshore Drive exit and travel West about 1.1 miles.
Olde Weatherly is served by the new Pelham Public Library. It is located at 2000 Pelham Park Boulevard, just off US 31 in front of Pelham Park Middle School and Pelham Recreation Center. The $4 million, 20,000 square-foot facility opened in May 2018.(return to top)

The newest amenity available to residents of Olde Weatherly is the Pelham Recreation Center, which opened in January 2018. Inside this 38,00 square foot complex there are two basketball courts, two volleyball courts, a track, an exercise room for classes, a weight room with strength machines and cardio machines, locker rooms, and conference rooms. Outside either completed or under construction there are two basketball courts, four volleyball courts, and a walking/biking trail. The new center is located off US 31 at 2020 Pelham Park Boulevard, about 3.8 miles from Olde Weatherly.
There are three Pelham city parks within 4 miles of Olde Weatherly. The closest park is Fun Go Holler Park. It has a softball park, an outdoor basketball court, a walking trail, and a picnic area. It is located off Shelby 52, behind the Pelham Racquet Club, about 2.2 miles from Olde Weatherly. Coker Park is about 2.5 miles away, off Shelby County 72. To get to Coker Park, follow Shelby 52, turn right onto Shelby 35, and turn right onto Shelby 72. Coker Park has a .25 mile walking track, a picnic area, and a playground area. By far the largest park in Pelham is the City Park complex. It has six baseball/softball fields, two football fields, two playground areas, a half mile walking track, and eleven hard surface tennis courts. The Pelham City Park complex is located off US 31 about 3.8 miles from Olde Weatherly.
Pelham Racquet Club is located off Shelby 52 about 2 miles from Olde Weatherly. It is a public tennis facility with 20 clay courts and 5 hard courts, and a pro shop. State and regional tournaments are hosted there during the Spring, Summer, and Fall.

The Pelham YMCA is at 2610 Pelham Parkway, about 5 miles from the entrance to Olde Weatherly. Facilities there include a large pool, exercise machines, weights, and fitness classes.
Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama's largest state park, is within sight of Olde Weatherly. Facilities there include hiking biking and equestrian trails, fishing lakes, peddle boats, a sandy beach for swimming, and an 18 hole golf course. A favorite place for pictures is Peavine Falls. Peavine Creek runs through Olde Weatherly. The entrance to the park is about 4 miles from Olde Weatherly. Take Shelby 52 to Shelby 35 and turn right. Stay on 35 to the park gate.
Ballantrae Golf Club is less than 4 miles from Olde Weatherly. The 18 hole golf course there winds through a valley surrounded by rolling hills and scenic woodlands. In 2005, Ballantrae was recognized by Golf Digest as "the best new affordable public golf course". From the clock in Olde Weatherly, follow Kings Crest Lane south and make a right onto Windsor Circle. Turn left onto Windsor Circle and then left onto Weatherly Club Drive. Weatherly Club Drive becomes Ballantrae Parkway.
The Ice Arena at the Pelham Civic Complex has two National Hockey League sized rinks that are available for public skating. The facility hosts the Birmingham Figure Skating Club and the Pelham Youth Hockey League. It is located north of Olde Weatherly off US 31, about 5.8 miles from Olde Weatherly.(return to top)

Pelham Towne Center off Shelby 52 less than 1.5 miles from the entrance to Olde Weatherly. There is a Publix there along with several other shops and restaurants.
Propst Promenade is a 600,000 square foot plus shopping center at the intersection of US 31 and I-65 in Alabaster. Stores there includes a Walmart Super Center, a Lowe's Home Improvement center, Belk, Books-A-Million and other local and national retailers. It is about 3.2 miles from the clock. To get there take Kings Crest south and make a right onto Windsor Circle and then a left onto Windsor Lane. Go straight ahead at the intersection with Weatherly Club Drive onto Alabaster Blvd.
Colonial Promenade is across US 31 from Propst Promenade. Stores there include JC Penney, Target, and Best Buy.
There are many stores and restaurants on US 31 north and south from the intersection with Shelby 52. Some of the larger stores are The Home Depot, Old Time Pottery, and Mi Pueblo, an international food store.(return to top)
